“I want to tell a story!” is a movement based story telling programme that will take the children through the arts of story telling with music movements, colorful costumes, characterization and different propr.

The stories will be taken from different fables, folktales and from the segment form the epic Ramayana (eg the fight between the monkey brother, Bali and Sugriwa in the forest, the magical forest of Sita with the different animals and the golden deer, the battle between Rama and the king of Lanka etc.

The children will be witnessing different moods and movements that will be used to tell a story; as the story-teller takes them on a journey with visuals through music and movement enhance with costumes and props.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES –

1. Audiences will gain knowledge of various legends, tales and folklores from different countries.

2. Audiences will also be provided with an opportunity to understand how these legends, tales and folklores came about and at times, became a part of the people’s culture and traditions.

3. Sharing stories through dance theatre.
